Why I decided to become an elementary school assistant principal
I loved teaching and enjoyed being in the classroom, most importantly I loved working with the children. However, I wanted to make a difference on a larger scale. I think when I was in the classroom I started to feel that I needed to make a difference in the lives of more than the 20 or so students I was teaching. It was the natural progression of my career path to enter Framingham State College and into their Education Leadership Program. There is so much energy in an elementary school . It's a good place to work. Communication is key to being an assistant principal. It will be important for me to be approachable and a good listener so that students, parents, and staff feel comfortable bringing their questions and concerns to me. I am grounded and focused, taking things step-by-step. I am focusing on learning the names of all the children, but learning over 400 names will be a challenge! Post a comment and introduce yourself!
